Myomectomy is the removal of the fibroid or fibroids (myomas) with preservation of the uterus. The fibroids may be:
| • | Subserous: The fibroid is superficial in uterine wall under the covering layer serosa |
| • | Intramural: The fibroid is within the uterine wall. |
| • | Submucus: The fibroid is in the uterine wall but lies immediately under the endometrium and or bulging inside the uterus. |
| • | Combination of the above |
